Ethnobotany is the study of how people interact with plants. If people did not interact with plants, then there would be no point of doing tissue culture techniques to plants – we would have no reason to propagate them. Therefore, ethnobotany is an essential component of plant tissue culture.
Plants are used for everything. We eat plants. They have medicinal properties which heal us. We construct our shelter out of plants.
In an increasingly clandestine world people are more separated than ever from the reality that humans are entirely dependent on plants so that we can survive and thrive. Botanophobia is on the rise.
